About Billy's Chowder House

Billy’s Chowder House is a casual seafood restaurant, located in the southern coastal town of Wells, Maine, with a reputation for great chowder and lobster rolls. The notoriety doesn’t end there; the freshest seafood around is probably what sets them apart from every other Seafood Restaurant along the coast. Located in middle of the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve on Mile road, which connects Rt.1 to Wells Beach. Billy’s has a unique one of a kind location, with water on both sides of the road. The interior of Billy’s is typical Maine, with knotty pine walls and ceilings, blue-checkered tablecloths and nautical memorabilia everywhere. They even have lobsters on their ceilings, just to keep the little ones occupied. The bar has a sports theme with lots of TV’s and sports pictures. The view is what makes this bar unique though, you can sit at the bar and watch the seals swim, or the fish jump. We’ve even had a moose saunter by the bar. Talk about excitement, the place went crazy. Tourists and locals love Billy’s, you can’t get enough of the place. Locals eat or drink there like its their own home and tourists can’t drive through Wells without their annual pilgrimage to Billy’s. The fried food is to die for; the chowders are all home made and mouth watering. Lobster rolls are so famous, food and wine magazine did an article featuring the Lobster rolls they’re so good. When you come to Maine, and you’re looking for the best Seafood Experience, the one you fantasize about, come to Billy’s Chowder House. Where seafood dreams come true.
